Human Trafficking Awareness
Bakhita Kids works to raise awareness about human trafficking happening in our own backyards—in Northern Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland.
By the time warning signs become noticeable, a child may already be deeply trapped in trafficking. Victims are often controlled through manipulation, threats, and violence against them or their families.
The average age a child enters the U.S. sex trade is 12–14. But trafficking can begin even earlier. Preteens are being groomed, and children are being trafficked locally—even after school. Children as young as 3 have been victims.
